Eating Well While Traveling

roadtripThe summer means long road trips and destination vacations, which is great. But airport and roadside food is anything but great… With a little preparation, you can save money and eat clean no matter how far you’re traveling.

Before you leave, take a few minutes to pack fresh fruits (apples, pears, and oranges travel well), cut up celery and carrots, snack bars (Larabars are a great option, or make your own with the recipe below), nuts, and some dried fruit. Fill up several water bottles before a road trip, or, if flying, pack an empty water bottle (to fill up after passing through airport security).

Try some of these travel-friendly meals and snacks that fit perfectly in a resealable bag or a standard food storage container.
